EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is down 4 1/2 cents per
bushel, November soybeans are down 6 3/4 cents, September KC wheat is down 1/4
cent, September Chicago wheat is down 1/4 cent, and MIAX September Minneapolis
wheat is up 0.0075 cents.
CME GLOBEX RECAP: On Tuesday, September corn dropped 7 cents, November
soybeans dropped 14 1/2 cents, and September KC wheat dropped 10 1/4 cents.
Soybean and corn basis was stronger Tuesday, while spring wheat basis was
steady and hard red winter wheat and soft red winter wheat basis was weaker. It
was a real 'Turnaround Tuesday' to the downside for row-crops. Despite strong
demand data and fresh soybean sales to China, traders appear to be ignoring
falling crop ratings with so much rain falling at the end of July and the start
of August. It's back to trading seasonals. Additionally, the progress in peace
talks in the Middle East has energy markets falling, sending soybean oil lower
with them. On Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. CDT, the Energy Information Administration
will release the weekly Petroleum Status report, including last week's ethanol
production and stocks.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: The previous close on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones
Industrial Average up 907.47 at 54,085.88 and the S&P 500 up 136.02 at
7,736.52. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.627%. Early Wednesday, the
September Dow Jones Futures are up 135 points. European markets are lower, with
the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.02%, spot futures of
Germany's DAX are trading down 0.06%, and the spot futures of France's CAC 40
Index are down 0.06%. Asian markets are higher, with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index
up 3.66% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.47%.
